Oxfendazole, an anthelmintic agent of the benzimidazole class, is utilized in veterinary medicine. It is sparingly administered to horses, goats, sheep, and cattle. Sheep, owing to their grazing habits, receive more frequent treatment than cattle. In cases of high pasture contamination, sheep are treated with this medication 4-5 times annually. Its application in dogs and cats is uncommon. The livestock formulation of the drug is primarily available as pills, tablets, drenches, bolus, etc., and is administered orally. Drenches are the preferred form for pet dogs.
