What is Fenbendazole?

Internal parasites cause the most harm to animals. Fenbendazole is an effective veterinary anthelmintic used for cattle, sheep, goats, pig, poultry, horses, dogs, and cats against roundworms and tapeworms. However, it does not work against flukes and various external parasites. Fenbendazole is given orally. It is widely used in livestock and frequently in pets, usually in the form of tablets, pills, or oral suspensions, as well as horses mostly in oral pastes & gels.

For ruminants, this medication is administered by reducing the diet by 50% 36 hours before and 8 hours after treatment. This slows down stomach passage, enhancing treatment effectiveness.

When treating carnivorous pets like dogs and cats, delivering the medication with food increases the bioavailability of all benzimidazoles, leading to improved efficacy.
